Three of my works are featured in the 2024 edition of the University of St. Thomas’ literary magazine, the Summit Avenue Review. Two, Optimization and Decay Unto Ash, are poems, while the third, House of Cards, is short fiction. See below for synopses of each.
Optimization
Musings on productivity and the oblivious bliss of childhood.
Decay Unto Ash
How much damage could a single oxide really do?
House of Cards
House of Cards paints an apocalyptic picture of a past (or perhaps a future) where citizens are gleefully chained to the Castle: a mandatory defense system that may or may not amount to human sacrifice. Some citizens wish to escape the grasp of the Castle, and those citizens are swiftly removed from society… but will their absence make the Castle stronger, or cause it to collapse like a house of cards?
